I.O.U.S.A. You Owe It To Yourself

This movie is not biased tward the left or right of the political spectrum, it simply is the truth about the level of debt this nation is in, and the economic crisis we as a people face. While most Americans prefer not to concentrate on facts and figures, this movie makes a compelling arguement for not only becoming politically active and demanding more fiscal responsibility of your elected leaders, but for every American to take some fiscal responsibility of thier own. Stop treating your homes like piggy banks and treat them like homes, spend money that you have, not credit, and save some cash in the bank. Its basic Economics 101, "There is no such thing as a freelunch."

The worst part about this movie is that I saw it on Friday, August 29th, in a huge theater with only about twenty people in total, while the prior night 80,000 people jam packed a football stadium to here Barack Obama give a Speech with 29 lines of promises and 2 lines about how he will pay for those promises.

Really compelling -- everyone needs to see this movie!

Did you know that the government has over-spent $184,000 for every man, woman, and child in the country? That your family owes over $90,000 in Federal debt (in addition to whatever else you may owe)? That there are already instances of "financial warfare" in which countries have used debt leverage to achieve military aims?

This movie is a wake-up call and a call to action that EVERYONE needs to see.

The government is spending future generations money and putting our country in a position that has -- and will continue to -- put our nation's security in jeopardy.

Please see this movie and spread the word!

    IOU.S.A

A film every American needs to see.
Wake up AMERICA. This is what the film does.

It explains the problems we as a country have with debt and deficit in terms anyone can understand.
And it explains what our government is doing and NOT doing to remedy it.
If you are in the dark about what exactly IS our problem as a nation and what we are facing AND what we need to do,you need to see this film.

Take a friend and GO SEE IT!!

    Government Finance Debacle 101

I've been reading about the coming of this film for several months prior to the opening (see the Agora Financial website at agorafinancial.com) and had been waiting for the premier. I already knew about much of what the film discussed, but it was clear that a lot of our fellow citizens don't. They say this film is to the government debt what "An Inconvenient Truth" was for the environment. I would agree. While the film is a financial documentary, it had it's entertaining moments, catchy visual aids, and some very startling facts that caught me by surprise.

If you are interested in why the US economy is in such bad shape right now, and why it is not going to get any better, why the value of the dollar continues to dwindle, and what this means for your future and the future of your family (or the one you plan on having someday) then go see this film.

I.O.U.S.A. the Cure for "Economic Myopia"

This movie is a very excellent way to portray how the economy is truly performing. We see the signs all around us from the high gas prices to the price of groceries being astronomical.

In my city, there are people who have to make the choice between getting a gallon of milk and a gallon of gas. This clearly shows our economy is out of control.

Our federal and personal spending is WAY!!!! above the limit. I saw the movie and came home and established a budget for my household.

This is must see, I have recommended the movie to so many others, because movies like this one oftentimes don't get enough praise. We as Americans, have to take the blinders off and stand up for our future and our children's future.

An Inconventient Truth for the Economy?

Saw the premiere last night, followed by a town hall with Warren Buffett. Wow. Yes, this is a documentary, and no, it is not The Dark Knight, but it is equally as scary. This movie was well made and engaging and truly made me fear for the future of my children and grandchildren. If you care at all about the state of the American economy, you MUST SEE THIS FILM.

    I.O.U.S.A.

This is among a number of important works designed to wake us from a deep and deadly 'slumber' and lethargy that Americans and many of the worlds common folk have fallen into. I.O.U.S.A. deals directly with our economic woes and the tragic mismanagement that has gripped Americans, their system of exchange, and the very "leadership" that we have entrusted to guide us. This film and others like it must be embraced in order that we encourage these very capable and skilled film makers to bring to our mind's eye and attention what the main stream media and our distracted government is choosing to both suppress and deny. This is a sobering accounting of the travesty that has befallen our great nation as a result of an absence of leadership, governmental and public irresponsibility and a general and widespread condition of deep personal and collective unconsciousness that is at the root of this mess we are in. Do see this movie and recommend it to as many friends and associates as you can.

    Go and take your kids!

Anyone in highschool and up needs to see this movie. A fairly unbiased (if that's at all possible) review of the current state of the economy and future predictions. Puts a lot into perspective on the changes the we as individuals can make in our lives to protect ourselves.

    Wake up call !!

It's a good wake-up call with good messages.
If we want a more solid financialWe MUST Conserve, not Consume.

My family, friend and I are grateful of the info from the movie.
My friend has always been trying to teach her daughter why she should save, but not to spend. Unfortunately, her 18 years old daughter never understand.
My friend brought her daughter to I.O.U.S.A, her daughter walks into the movie as a Spender, she walks out as a True believer of Saving.

    Must see

Every citizen should see this movie, maybe then the ones who keep asking for handouts will figure out that money doesn't come from trees, it gets printed, but it will cost us as a nation very dearly in the future.

    See this MOVIE!

Deep apppreciation for the producers of this movie. David Walker is my new HERO. We are a spoiled bunch here in America. See this movie and start thinking about how you can help to get the USA strong again before we are owned by China and other foreign countries.

This movie should be in every theater. I had to travel 50 miles (one way) to see it, but it was well worth the ride!

    IOUSA (Del Monte Theatre/Monterey, CA)

Good movie! Good documentation in most areas addressed and the panel discussion at the end was helpful on current economic problems. Thought Warren Buffett, as did others, was too pollyyannish and more like other mainstream media commentators. The issue of the weakness of the dollar could have been addressed in greater detail. Overall, the producers did a good job and look forward to a follow through with even more audience questions and participation--- more like a true audio/video teleconference.

    I.O.U.S.A.

Fascinating Movie - An Insightful look ino the current world Financial Situation and the History behind it. Any one that is interested where we are today both politically and financially this is a must see.

The only dissapointment I personally had was the fact that a large part of our problem has to do with Out-Sourcing and the growing dependency to have machine, do our thinking for us, which includes, but is not limited to the fact that the vast majority of business, both lage and small that use recorded devives to answer phone and then expect you to carry on a conversation.

Both of the above has eliminated the need for jobs, there by increasing the Unemployment Problem.

This has also eliminated the need on the part of both industry and consumer to develop One on One personal relationships with those that we do business with

    I.O.U.S.A. The Sad Truth

Still looking for this movie where I live and not surprised it's getting a "So-So" rating from those who've seen it. Why? Because at least 50% of those viewers probably Borrowed the money from their overloaded credit cards to get their tickets! And most are too stupid to grasp it's reality.
While Obama gives us all "hope" and un-defined "change we can believe in" and the new Camelot is established... While McCain wonders how he can stop it all... The public waits for someone else other than themselves to take action and save an economy that used to be respected. Good Luck to anyone under 20.

    Pragmatic consumer level action steps

The movie was very compelling. This problem has been revealed decades ago but our education system does not deploy responsible information to the young citizens of our country. We have know since Woodrow Wilson mistakenly signed the Federal Reserve Act that the decline was eminent.

There are pragmatic steps we can all take to reverse the effects and protect ourselves from the misguided and greedy. [BLOCKED WEBSITE] Watch the video.

Again, the movie is an excellent awareness tool. Now we need to dispense pragmatic means for each individual to contribute in righting a wrong. The answer can be found here. [BLOCKED WEBSITE] Take back your rights !!!
