    Good documentary

    by tkk55

Not a lot of new information, but some great interviews with a diverse group of people. We had the pleasure of a q&a session with Shannon and Linda after the showing and they provided some great insights into the man he was. It made Bruce Lee more human to me. Shannon and Linda were very generous with their time and took a minute to chat, take photos and thank us for coming out to support the film.

    His Legacy continues to grow

Growing up Bruce Lee was my hero but I never really understood why. He was a fantastic fighter, had great confidence and of course very good looking. But as I learn about his life he is truly a hero representing a community that had no place in Hollywood. I think that many communities in the same position identified with his struggles and celebrated his triumphs. Excellent movie that shows all this about Bruce and more. I highly recommend this movie to everyone - everyone can benefit from seeing this. He was a pioneer and changed martial arts forever! I miss him a lot and wish he was still here to share his gifts! I hope this comes back to the theater - deserves more time! This movie is great because you will see his phenominal physique, fighting style and growth as a fighter, person, father, movie star, and why he still has an impact today.

"I Am Bruce Lee" Was Awesome!!!

I loved the film. I already know A LOT about Bruce Lee, but this film is a great experience that allows people who don't know much about him to learn about his history, spirtual and philosophical growth. Bruce Lee's past film clips were brought together harmoneously. I think this film is for everyone with the exception of a little cursing here and there from some of the actors interviewed. Overall, this fill is a MUST SEE.

    Great Documentary With Interesting Interviews

All-in-all, another great documentary on Bruce Lee. A lot of air time for his wife and daughter. Great archival footage and interviews with the Master himself, but nothing new. Interesting interviews with other modern celebs, including Ed O'Neill (Al Bundy) and UFC peeps.

The words from Kobe are meaningless to me; however. He just didn't seem sincere. Who knew "Al Bundy" has a black-belt IRL!

Two peeps I wished gave interviews for the documentary: Chuck Norris and Kareem Abdul Jabbar.

I wished there was about 20 minutes less from the modern peeps and about 20 more minutes from Bruce's mouth.

    An inspiring story

    by gjahn

My teenage son is into martial arts. We both enjoyed this film very much. It has some good action scenes from Lee's films, interesting interviews and even some emotional moments. Best of all you leave the theater inspired to work hard to achieve your dreams.

Best, most real documentary about Bruce Lee. Period. Endorsed by Linda and Shannon.

I was fortunate enough to see the first public showing in Seattle, which included a Q&A session with Linda and Shannon Lee after the movie. This particular documentary, unlike virtually all of the countless others, is endorsed and promoted by Bruce's family.

The biopic afforded an exceptionally thoughtful and unique insight into not only how Bruce Lee impressed his fans, which we are all aware of, but also his thought behind and motivation for becoming who he was. Bruce Lee was a unique thinker, much ahead of his time in the martial arts. He had the cojones to say "ok, that's not real" when appropriate and to express himself and his martial expertise by living his life as a true warrior, distilling his abilities and techniques down to their purest and most effective levels.

Valuable additions included special thoughts and dialogue with some of his true friends and colleagues like Dan Inosanto and others.

See this film; understand the message...and "be like water, my friend."

    I am Bruce Lee

This documentary was well put together with interviews from actors and martial artists. It gave a great perspective on how Bruce thought about life. He said something like, you need to focus on being yourself and expressing yourself. Do not try to mirror a successful persons life, just be yourself.

    Great documentary

A must see if you are a dedicated Bruce Lee fan or if you want to learn about one of the most influential person of this time. The emotional contact with the interviewees was really something, rare archival footage was seen and overall a really great piece of work. Almost cried..and i'm a 20 year old "tough" male.

    Awesome

Once again I was given chill bumps when hearing of his story. The Man is a legend and I was happy to see him again in another personal light. Great great documentary. I'll likely purchase this one too to add to my collection.

    He's Still The Man

The documentary was well done. Clever uses of movie footage to accompany the commentary. I would have been much happier if they would have included more people from the martial arts/acting community or contemporaries. Such as Jackie Chan and Sammo Hung, who actually were in films with him, even though only as extras. Also others such as Jet Li or Yuen Biao. Who are stars in their own right who had the door opened to them by people like Bruce Lee.
He fascinated us and left so soon that the door was open for the likes of Jackie and Jet Li to gain a wider audience in the west.
Other than that, I think it was very well done. I would recommend it.
