Ladies and gentlemen, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire has done the unspeakable. It is better than the book it is based on while being 100% faithful to it.
Catching Fire does an amazing job of polishing its source material into an almost perfectly executed visual.
Jennifer Lawrence takes Katniss to a new level. Jennifer trades Katniss's confusion and indecisiveness for compassion and empowerment. She gives an even better performance here than the one she gave for Silver Linings Playbook. Elizabeth Banks also breathes special life into her character.
Catching Fire is far more mature than the first movie. The themes are more adult and the visuals are more graphic.
If you can't tell, I'm impressed. I wasn't expecting this to be one of the better movies of the year, but it definitely deserves its due. If you liked the first movie, you'll love Catching Fire!
There's nothing during or after the credits,
If you like my reviews, add me as a fan. I'll add you back!

I went to a midnight showing of Catching Fire and I am a HUGE fan of the books and throughout the entire movie, even though I knew what was going to happen, I still found myself sitting on the edge of my seat. It is a roller coaster of emotions by the end of the movie I did not know what to feel because there was humor to lighten things, serious moments, scary moments, and romantic moments. If you have read the books and are a stickler for detail, there were a few scenes that were left out, one in particular that I thought was relatively important but over all I am completely satisfied with the movie. Everyone should go see it.

The movie wasn't as detailed as the book, but was worth the wait to see. The casting was excellent. I can't wait to go see it again and agian.

Our family genuinely enjoyed Catching Fire. Some of us had read the book and found the movie to be true to the original, while others were "discovering" the story for the first time. The movie was enjoyable for all of us.
While it is a bit long, it doesn't drag, and the acting seemed better this time around.
We found this to be much more entertaining than Thor and look forward to the final installment.

I would say just as good as the first one though the ending was very "to be continued." If you enjoyed the first one, definitely go see this one. Seeing in IMAX was a big improvement as well. You really feel like you're there and the tension is palpable.
