Sanjay Dutt, who also starred in 1989's Hathyar and Ilaaka, tops the cast of the East Indian Hum Bhi Insaan Hai. Young Dutt plays a stable boy who falls in love with Neelam, the daughter of landlord Kader Khan. The landlord has already shattered the life of his older daughter Jaya Prada by insisting she give up her impoverished boy friend and marry into wealth. The Dutt-Neelam relationship is saved by the intervention of Jacki Shroff, the man whom Prada had been forced to reject. Hum Bhi Insaan Hai was based on a story by Kallai Mani. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi
