If You Liked 'Shaun of the Dead,' Here's Your Next Movie

Simon Pegg and the gang who brought you the cult classic 'Shaun of the Dead' are back at it again, this time skewering the buddy cop genre. Those who loved the witty, somewhat mock-serious (read: British) humor of 'Shaun' should find lots to enjoy here. It's over-the-top, but played straight. The set-up is a bit slow, and new viewers may find the gore and shock edits a little unnerving, but it's all part of the fun. Any movie that properly lampoons and pays homage to the guilty pleasures of the Keanu Reeves-Patrick Swayze actioner "Point Break" can't be all bad.

This is far and away the best buddy cop film I have ever seen. It's instantly engaging with its lightning fast pace that doesn't ever let up, and the comedy in this film is better than anything that's out right now. The balance between the over-the-top action and and the tongue-in-cheek humor prevent this film from being too campy. It is very aware of its predecessors and makes no attempt to hide its various sources of inspiration, so any hardcore fan of action films will surely love this movie. I found myself red in the face for almost 10 minutes after it ended because I was laughing that hard. It's going to be in limited release here in the States, so if you're lucky enough to have this film playing in your theater, you owe it to yourself to see Hot Fuzz. It very well may improve your quality of life.

Lame, 30 minutes too long. No laugh out loud moments here. It's a MISS for me.

I went to see Hot Fuzz in an early sneak peak in Santa Monica, California with Simon Pegg, Nick Frost and Edgar Wright being in attendance. The movie was great....it is different from Shaun of the Dead but in an inventive manner. Really exciting, funny and clever...a two hours worth of excitement and adrenaline. A definite good time...so go see it!!!!

The best movie of the year so far

This movie was such an unexpected surprise for myself and my friends. Absolutely hilarious with a great story. Why this movie is only in limited release while we are constantly tortured with so much crap in wide release is beyond me. How anyone in the industry lcan look at this movie and not want to put this in every theatre they can really makes me worry about the state of the movie industry in the U.S.
