If You Liked 'Shaun of the Dead,' Here's Your Next Movie

Simon Pegg and the gang who brought you the cult classic 'Shaun of the Dead' are back at it again, this time skewering the buddy cop genre. Those who loved the witty, somewhat mock-serious (read: British) humor of 'Shaun' should find lots to enjoy here. It's over-the-top, but played straight. The set-up is a bit slow, and new viewers may find the gore and shock edits a little unnerving, but it's all part of the fun. Any movie that properly lampoons and pays homage to the guilty pleasures of the Keanu Reeves-Patrick Swayze actioner "Point Break" can't be all bad.

The best movie of the year so far

This movie was such an unexpected surprise for myself and my friends. Absolutely hilarious with a great story. Why this movie is only in limited release while we are constantly tortured with so much crap in wide release is beyond me. How anyone in the industry lcan look at this movie and not want to put this in every theatre they can really makes me worry about the state of the movie industry in the U.S.

Hot Fuzz is Brilliant!

Hot Fuzz was unlike any comedy you will ever see! It was the funniest movie I have seen this year and 10 times better than thier first film Shaun of the Dead. The movie is so funny I laughed so hard tears came out of my eyes! There are so many parts in this movie that will make you wanna jump out of your seat and see it again! Absolutely a MUST GO!!

Hot Fuzz!

Hot Fuzz, is an amazing movie with action sequences throughout the movie. Though, it's kind of like a 007 Movie. he characters are all funny, and they all have a lot of humorous jokes. Just trust me. Its a good movie.

A mind-blowing action-comedy spoof without being too stupid

I loved HOT FUZZ because of how it is a spoof that balances action and comedy. Unlike spoof movies, it doesn't try to be that stupid. I loved the action and the absurd stuff going on. I thought the goriest death (yes there are) was how Tim Messenger died.

VERY FUNNY!!

I thought this was a very funny film. I've been waiting for a really good comedy, and I was going to give up after seeing "Blades of Glory." For anybody that wants a good laugh with plenty of action, this is a must see!!

Very entertaining and worth the money!

I haven't seen Shaun of the Dead, but now I want to go pick up the DVD after seeing Hot Fuzz. I remember seeing Nick Frost in "Kinky Boots" and it seems he's showing up everywhere now... which is not a bad thing, because he's very talented and fun to watch. I think this was the first film I've seen Simon Pegg in and if this is any indiciation, I'm going to dig up some of his other films. This was an awesome buddy cop flick, and funny as hell... the "violent and graphic images" don't overpower the film, so I wouldn't call it gratuitious. You don't need to understand British humor to get this film... although some of the jokes are subtle, but that makes them that much funnier. The ending was AWESOME, and easily one of the best in this genre (I don't want to give anything away, sorry for the vagueness). And, you get Timothy Dalton as a villainous supermarket manager!

Funniest Movie EVER

This movie was SO funny. If you liked "Shaun of the Dead" you will LOVE this movie. It surpassed all my expectations. I am buying it on DVD the day it comes out and am going to see it in the theaters again! GO WATCH IT RIGHT NOW!

Simon Pegg is awesome!

This was a very funny movie, it had a couple slow spots in the middle and beginning but flowed nicely overall and the end hits you like a mack truck! it is a great comady to see, if you like Shaun of the Dead you will love this also, Simons humor is top notch as usual. many of the same actors appear in Hot Fuzz that were in Shaun so it was fun to see them too!

Really funny movie, well written, good acting, and good ending. This movie was a treat. I saw Shaun of the Dead. I think this was a better movie. Best movie I have seen since Freedom Writers.

Graphic yet commical satire :)

I suggest this movie to all action fans. Not suggested for children under 13 or those who do not like graphic violence & scenes. But it is a funny look at how rediculous action films are & yet how entertaining they can be. Definately see it!

Love it

I loved it. Loved the style, loved the plot, loved the charm. They follow the same interesting and off the wall film making that made "Shawn of the Dead" worth watching and twisted it into a hilariously random action flick. It's amusingly graphic violence is interesting, to say the least, and I would avoid it if you have a weak stomuch. Even in the "serious" parts of the film, they are making fun of themselves, and in truth the entire movie rejoices in the fact it's worth making fun of. It was funny and creative enough to send me back to the theaters the next time these guys make another comedy. Not the most safisticated humor, but definately worth the time and money to goo see. =)
