Sadly disappointed dad

I took my son to see Hotel Transylvania on opening night (not in 3 D). The trailers for this movie were excellent - I wish I could say the same about the film. My 14 year old was mildly amused with the humor, I was less than mildly amused. I expected a balance of adult and child humor, as in most successful movies of this genre; needless to say, there was none.

Hotel Transylvania

This was a great Family movie. It was visually appealing and very funny. A good"coming of age," theme with the over-protective, control-freak, Father, who has isolated himslef from the world to protect him, his daughter, and his fellow monstors. Great revalations into a changed mondern world helps, Dad, accept the inevitable "growing to go," that maturation brings.

Not worth seeing in 3D

Was a little disappointed in the movie. The plot was pretty weak and paying the extra $$ to see in 3D was a big waste. The theme was in poor taste in my opinion as well. All about zinging early and finding your one true love. Not a great sentiment for kids growing up. The main character's mother waits 118 years to tell her only daughter that the most important thing is to find love. Just didn't sit well with me.

Took our 4 year old daughter to the 3D and it was wonderful. Hilarious a nd daughter loves it as well! We usually only watch in theatres, rent from redbox or buy when it comes out. One or the other. However, this movie,we plan on buying when it is released.

I took my two grandchilden, ages 4and 8 to see Hotel Transylvania. The main reason is because I wanted to see it. We all had a great time. The movie is fun for kids of all ages, and it has the inuendos for adults like the Shrek movies have. The adults in the theater were laughing just as hard as the kids. Fun movie! I would go see it again!
