Adam Sandler at his best

I appreciate Adam Sandler's movies as he gotten older so much more than his earlier ones and this one is his best yet. Family oriented, entertaining for both kids and adults and a great pro-family theme. The voices from Kevin James, David Spade and Fran Drescher were hilarious. Kept waiting for the requisite Rob Schneider appearance though. We saw it in 3D and it was well worth the extra ticket price. The effects were amazing. A must-see for families looking for a funny movie.

Hotel Transylvania

A very entertaining movie for kids from preschool to early teens. The preschoolers can see all the monsters they've heard about in action and not be scared into nightmares. Just a lot of funny, silly monster stuff. There are jokes that the older kids will get and they will like the monster jammin' and Johnny, the cool skater dude. I'm a grandma and I loved it as well. Lots of colorful action. The story was sweet. A loving, overprotective father; a teenager who wants to do fun teenage stuff; a compromise everyone, including the audience can live with. I was a little disappointed that David Spade's character was so out-of -the-spotlight because in other animations he's done, his personality comes through so well in the character he plays. I will definitely add this one to my collection.

This movie was really cute, funny, and it has a good story. There are a few scenes where Dracula has a very sudden, very scary face, and it is very close up, which makes it more scary. Those few scenes could be scary for small children. But, overall, the movie was wonderful. Perfect for my 9 year old daughter.
