Fabulous, fabulous movie. A must see for every middle aged couple whether you are happily married or not. I have not had so much fun in a very long time. Don't think it will appeal to anyone under the age of 30 though. You need to have experienced some of the anxiety and fears that both people have to appreciate the effort, embarrasment and final the reward. I loved it.

Why didn't someone listen to the volume of this movie when they were producing it?
My hearing is perfect, and I could barely make out some of the dialogue.
Meryl Streep's character was so low key she almost disappeared, and the lines whispered in a very low tone were truly hard to make out.
The pace was slow, the characters (although interesting, potentially) never grabbed my attention (perhaps because I had to strain to hear what they were saying).
The scenes shot during the rolling of the credits at the end were by far the best. If you can hang on until then you'll see the movie they should have made.
What a waste of fine actors.

The trailer made the movie look like it was really funny, but while it had funny parts don't expect it to be anything like "It's complicated" or something like it. In fact, Steve Carell played a serious character and did not joke around at all. It was a raw look into a real relationship of a couple that has been together a long time. Having said all of that, I liked the movie and thought it was real with some really heartwarming parts.

The movie was really great. So funny at times. Meryl Streep was fantastic. What two people went through to try and get the passion back in their marriage. Whether it worked or not, you have to see it.Not for children

Anyone who likes Meryl Streep or Tommy Lee Jones should see this movie. Of course, anyone much younger than they are probably won't be interested in the movie. However, just about anyone who has been in a long term marriage will appreciate their challenges with maintaining intimacy and how hard it is to bring that back once it has been missing. I did cry at their struggles and laughed at some of their funnier moments. Both Meryl Streep and Tommy Lee Jones did their usual excellent job at drawing you into the story and delivering totally believable characters. Well worth seeing!
