Great movie. Saw it with my wife and we laughed throughout the entire movie. poignant and funny because it's true. Streep and Jones are outstanding actors. Thought this movie was more for mature (middle age) couples, but saw several young people and teens in the theater. One of the best movies we've seen.

Good Date Night Movie for couples of 15+ years

Written August 12, 2012
Meryl Streep was wonderful in this movie ! Tommy Lee Jones was hilarious and Steve Carroll was perfect for the role of the therapist ! This movie is warm and funny ! It touches on awkward intimate moments that exist even in the longest of personal relationships. Just as its title bears...it communicates the message of hope for any age in life and love. I recommend you see this movie But not with your elderly parents or grandparents. It could be quite awkward during a few scenes. Its a great date flick !

This was a perfect movie especially for couples that have been together for a long time. The story was simple but great. The acting was wonderful. I am glad that I didn't miss it

The movie was really great. So funny at times. Meryl Streep was fantastic. What two people went through to try and get the passion back in their marriage. Whether it worked or not, you have to see it.Not for children

Hope Springs Weakly

Why didn't someone listen to the volume of this movie when they were producing it? My hearing is perfect, and I could barely make out some of the dialogue. Meryl Streep's character was so low key she almost disappeared, and the lines whispered in a very low tone were truly hard to make out. The pace was slow, the characters (although interesting, potentially) never grabbed my attention (perhaps because I had to strain to hear what they were saying). The scenes shot during the rolling of the credits at the end were by far the best. If you can hang on until then you'll see the movie they should have made. What a waste of fine actors.
