Hope Springs

Meryl Streep and Tommy Lee Jones are such great actors that they capture slightly-more-than-middle age reality all to well. This movie did two things - 1) Made me appreciate my own marriage and 2) Depressed me terribly! What I found REALLY interesting was that NO ONE was chatting as they left the theater. Although this movie has a few laughs, it's mostly a sad statement on the difference between men and women and how they feel about life as it rolls along. See it with friends if you want a good discussion topic. See it with your spouse only if your ready for the effect it may have on you as a couple!

Parts were funny and Streep is a great actress. However, part were pretty boring and I felt the writing could have kept the humor in it a little more. We're getting older what's not to laugh at

I really do not know how younger people will relate to this movie. Long-time married people will laugh and sigh, giggle and cry when watching this totally believable film. With that range of emotion can you skip it? I think not! Meryl Streep is well, Meryl Streep, one of the finest actors alive. Tommy Lee Jones is absolutely well cast for the part of Arnold. If it has a weak link it is Steve Carell who does an uninspired run through as the counsellor. Go, buy some popcorn, bring tissues and enjoy.

Definately an old persons movie, but we knew that cause we're old. The movie was billed as a comedy and is far from that overall. There are some very dark moments, and some NC-17 moments also. Not for people who are not able to see and hear some racy sex talk and visuals. The movie was hard hitting, somewhat believable, and has a happy ending. So what more can you ask for $8. Oh, and prepare to shed a tear or two. Just as comparison, we both like the Marigold Hotel 10 times better....have seen that one twice so far !

I love Meryl Streep, Tommy Lee Jones, Steve Carell and Jean Smart. but this movie was terrible. At least it did have a happy ending. Good acting, but depressing storyline. Do not recommend anyone to see it.
