First it says this movie is a comedy, even the potentially comedic parts were awful. From the director of Devil Wears Prada, maybe but definitely lost the touch. With such a dynamite cast the potential for a Great movie was there, but it fell flat on its face.
If you need couples therapy and can't afford it, this will be a good enough painful process for you for a lot less money.

Meryl Streep was wonderful in this movie !
Tommy Lee Jones was hilarious and Steve Carroll was perfect for the role of the therapist !
This movie is warm and funny ! It touches on awkward intimate moments that exist even in the longest of personal relationships. Just as its title bears...it communicates the message of hope for any age in life and love.
I recommend you see this movie But not with your elderly parents or grandparents.
It could be quite awkward during a few scenes.
Its a great date flick !

This was a perfect movie especially for couples that have been together for a long time.
The story was simple but great. The acting was wonderful. I am glad that I didn't miss it

How can you go wrong with Meryl Streep and Tommy Lee Jones? Well, you can't. This film would not have been as good or as sweet with any other actors. They are totally believable as a couple from Omaha, Nebraska who have been married for 31 years and have stopped communicating with each other and have lost their intimacy. The writing is excellent and if any holes exist in the dialogue (and I'm not sure they do), the performances are so nuanced and the characters so complete by these two, that you feel every uncomfortable moment that they feel--which is not a bad thing because you also feel every breakthrough they have.
Steve Carell is also excellent as the therapist. There are cameos by Jean Smart, Elisabeth Shue and Mimi Rogers.
It's a sweet, touching, sometimes funny, sometimes sad movie and I would not be surprised to see one or two Oscar noms in February.

Fabulous, fabulous movie. A must see for every middle aged couple whether you are happily married or not. I have not had so much fun in a very long time. Don't think it will appeal to anyone under the age of 30 though. You need to have experienced some of the anxiety and fears that both people have to appreciate the effort, embarrasment and final the reward. I loved it.
