A true art film

I don't quite know what to make of it yet, but it's been swimming around my head for days. A love letter to the importance of cinema, an art film in the most abstract sense (which I typically hate), and a powerhouse performance by its lead. I'll need to watch it maybe 20 more times before I get it, and I may never get it, but what it stirs in me makes it feel vital.

Interesting, but not really in a good way...

I have seen this film and recommend NOT investing time your time, unless you enjoy having no idea what is going on in a foreign film with no clear plot and minimal dialog. This is a rentable film. I tend to enjoy foreign films, but this could not even be saved by a singing Kylie Minogue. I am not sure if the "dream" line of thinking some other reviewers have mentioned is what's really going on, or if the film is an indictment to mankind's endless need for more and more real experiences when going to the movies, or that no matter how real a movie feels, we still want to see outlandish and unbelievable (at times silly) stories played out in front of us. If anything, this movie made me want to pick up a book when I got home. Not the worst movie i've ever seen, but certainly no where near the best.
