Most would say this movie is just okay, and I'm not saying it's a masterpiece, but it's a solid film that ultimately plays better for the older set than it does for small children. I mean, we have scary witches who are hanged on screen (dangling feet shown), some questionable language and some adult themes and humor that the younger set wouldn't "get". But, as a movie for those over 10 it's a really funny, scary, enchanting good time, especially around Halloween! Bette Midler pulls out all the stops as a witch who has been cursed with "idiot sisters", who is bent on brewing potions so her and her sisters can "suck the lives out of little children" (see what I mean about small children seeing this?) So, the movie consists of the kids who have resurrected them making sure the witches don't suck children's souls out so they can stay young (and on Earth) forever. It's a pretty engaging story with a lot of good actors putting on great performances and the effects are top notch. See it!
