    Great Psycho-logical Tale

Great character study - excellent acting. Interesting look behind the scenes in Hollywood.

''I share my award, as I have my life, with her.''

    by

Hitchcock is a fun movie going experience for fans of the master of suspense, or just fans of film in general. The Pros: Anthony Hopkins, a brilliant actor who portrays Alfred Hitchcock without flaw. Definitely should be an Oscar contender for best actor. The Scenery, from the houses to the 1959 Paramount Pictures studios, the scenery added to the realism of the film. Helen Mirren, a strong actress and very believable in the role of Lady Hitchcock, the struggle between the two and also the love creates an undeniable chemistry between Hopkins and Mirren. The Cons: Scarlett Johansson, I love her as an actress, she wasn't terrible at all, but she was very unconvincing in the role of Janet Leigh, perhaps this was on the filmmakers for not centering the film around the production of Psycho. The Direction, The direction of the movie was great, but jumped around a lot between the love story line and the production of Psycho. Overall a fun and very enjoyable film with great performances. 3/5

    Hitchcock

Probably age-limited to those who saw the original Psycho in 1960, and there were plenty. With such an acclaimed film, it was interesting to learn how very difficult it was for its release!! An inside view of Alfred and Alma's troubled marriage well acted by all of the actors. I would rate this as a so-so movie.

Love Hitchcock And Hopkins Is Always Good!

    by

Very good movie. Hitchcock is a movie that takes a look at an extraordinary director from an unexpected angle. I was expecting more of a documentary film, and was surprised when I realized it was actually a love story. The movie portrays Hitchcock during the most stressful time in his life making Psyco. The story focuses on the stress in Hitchcock's marriage as he struggles to create his greatest movie of all time. Definitely not what I expected. Still a very good movie. Recommend to all Alfred Hitchcock fans. Anthony Hopkins is always on the top of his game when acting.

Wonderful Movie. If you liked Psycho you will love this.

    by lmaturo

The acting was terrific. The writing was terrific. And the zingers were hilarious. While a serious film, it has many zingers that will make you laugh. I think Alfred Hitchcock would have loved the movie, had he seen it, even though it is not always flattering to him. The ending, when Hitchcock is outside of his house talking to the camera, will break you up, and is truly something you could see Hitchcock doing.

All in all, a wonderful movie.

Behind every successful man is a woman...

    by pdyon54

Went to see this with my husband. What most impressed me was how much Hitch relied on his wife. Great acting and wonderful cinematography. We thoroughly enjoyed it. For everyone who is a fan of the masterful Alfred Hitchcock and those who have yet to discover his artistry. A must see. PJD in Lakewood CO

    Hitchcock

Excellent performances by both Anthony Hopkins and Helen Mirren. I remember Hitchcock and Hopkins captures him. It was very entertaining to see inside this most brilliant man. I was unaware of what a driving force Alma was. Go see this film.

    Good Evening

    by

Entertaining, smart, and accurate. Perfect acting from Hopkins, as usual, and surprisingly good from D'Arcy as Tony Perkins. If you like Alfred Hitchcock, well, you'll like Hitchcock.

Worth A Ticket But Temper Your Expectations.

I guess old "Hitch's" bio rights went up for auction recently, based solely on the seeming avalanche of material about his life that's already found it's way to screens big and small in recent months. Among that fare, this one is fair (pardon the pun) in the way of entertaining. Hopkins and Mirren deliver stellar performances with what can only be described as an amateurish screenplay. Proof once again that there are no small parts, only small actors. and again how genuinely amazing is what real talent can bring to an otherwise dismal effort. All in all this isn't a bad flick, just not one you might want to consider paying an evening ticket price to see. It's a judgment call best left to the one paying I suppose.

    Superb picture!

Well done to the cast, screen writer, and director! Excellent movie. I loved the scene where Hitch gets the most out of Janet Leigh in the shower scene. Now I can understand his pictures a bit better, since it appears his wife, Alma, was very much involved with his career for soooo many years.
