A Hit for Dax Shepard
I have followed Dax Shepard from early in his career and in this movie, his particular take on life and love really benefits from his improved writing. It is tighter, it is more consistently funny, he has just the right amount of surprises and a more cohesive story that is, and this isn't always important to me, more accessible and likable by a wider audience. His directing can't be faulted, he gets fantastic performances, especially from Kristen Bell, he lets Bradley Cooper off the chain a bit, and I'm not sure if it is all good, but it is a side we don't see often. I saw this the same day I watched Premium Rush, and this was by far my favorite, Mr. Shepard is adorable and charming and he usually doesn't play to those strengths, but in this movie he does in his own way and you will soon find out why I have been following him, waiting for a gem like this to come along. I know there are more like this up your sleeve as a writer and an actor and I hope you keep getting your movies made.
