If you want emotion and great acting, this movie has it! Alia Bhatt gives one of the greatest performances by an actress ever! No one could have played her part better!

One of the Best Ever

My wife and I went to see this last night. As we were leaving the theater I said to her, "this may be the best movie we will see this year." She wholeheartedly agreed. I think that Randeep's character was a little wooden at the beginning, but he developed it fully by the end of the movie. But Alia gave a stellar performance throughout. She skillfully portrayed every emotion and took us along with her. From time to time I was aware of the director's choices of backgrounds and camera angles. None of it detracted from the plot. Quite the opposite. some of the included scenery ranged from unique to breathtaking. It's a sleeper! don't miss it.

It may not be perfect (very few films, if any, are) but this is definitely one of the best films that I've seen in a while and definitely my favorite of the year so far. It has a great story, music, beautiful cinematography, & incredible acting from the two leads, Alia Bhatt's acting is particularly phenomenal. Please don't miss this resonating and emotionally impact full film. **I know it's still early in the year but I think or at least feel that this film has some major awards potential.

Movies about stockholm syndrome although not common, are not new in bollywood. This one does a great job of keeping things realistic: acting / language / dialogs. Randeep and Alia's acting is very good. However, the movie seems to fall in love with itself. Wayy too much time is spent in showing beautiful locales, the build up of the bond between the captor and the abductee - and when the bond is built, it ends quickly. The characters are not complex, from the story to its ending everything is so cheesy and predictable - they need not have spent so much time telling the tale. It could have been a good flick had they mixed in the element of police chase and the planning that goes into the capture. None of that is shown, instead it degenerates into a boring, long, predictable love-ishtory. I basically kept nagging my friends for last hour or so "Mai bore ho gaya, mai jaataa hoon".

the movie loses steam mid way, starts off nicely but then it just fizzles out.
