Solid Debut for Sajid Khan
First off, Heyy Babyy is a pure entertainer, so don't expect too much substance from such a film. Heyy Babyy works pretty well as a goofy, over-the-top comedy with some heart-warming moments. The first half especially is devoted to comedy with the best parts actually being when Sajid tries the least hardest, so obviously, there are several parts where the movie stretches scenes too long in its quest for laughs. The seconds part is slightly more serious. I love Vidya Balan, but this is probably the least I've liked her in a film, just because she plays an such a vindictive, angry character, thus nullifying her best attribute, her smile! The negatives of Heyy Babyy include a raunchy opening dance (especially for Bollywood), dragging at parts, and excessive toilet humor. The positives include: adequate amount of funny moments, superb music, awesome cameo/DDLJ homage by Shah Rukh and Anupam Kher, and a cute baby. Overall, a good fare! Enjoy!
