I was pleasantly surprised by this movie. Honestly, had not heard of it at all until I saw it on my netflix list to check out based on my tastes, but again ignored it. Finally, out of boredom, I found it playing on tv one Sunday - and I sat and laughed, and cried and was moved by henry Poole and his strange life and neighbors. A definite must see for anyone. Brilliant movie.
I think some people missed the point of this movie. It is not about a particular man and his story. It is about emotions: patience hope dispair faith belief. The emotions presented in this movie were so real to me it was scary. I do believe those who disliked this movie cannot face their own real human emotions. Those emotions were so fully portrayed in this movie. It ranks up there as one of the best I have seen - the unexpected heart warming drama. Regardless of the endiing, real or not, it was the journey to the end that made this a great movie.
boring
Very slow at times but alternating with moments of great warmth, this will appeal to those seeking a quiet contemplative picture with heavy underlying themes of hope and faith. For me it was a notch above a made for TV movie.
It was a good feel movie. No volience and just a feel good movie
