Original buzz:
As trashy and violent as its predecessors, but not nearly as fun.
First of all, this is a throw-back to trashy biker exploitation films from the 1960's, so those of you who are offended by sex, violence, and colorful language need to search elsewhere for entertainment. The sad thing is that even the exploitation crowd should probably look somewhere else... Larry Bishop was a genre actor in the 60's and 70's, and as the production of those films subsided, so did his career. Rediscovered by Tarantino, Bishop was encouraged to try his hand at writing and directing, and unfortunately he listened. Instead of updating the biker genre, Bishop spends two hours wishing it were 1964, continually flashing back to a murder that took place over thirty years ago and then following the cat-and-mouse antics of the two rival gangs involved. Kind of. The movie is a bit of a mess... Disjointed, poorly written, bad acting, awful direction... It has all of the violence, nudity, and cuss words we have come to expect from Tarantino productions, but none of the pizazz.
