The handicapped leads the blind in director Kim Dong-Hyun's humane drama about an uprooted North Korean man attempting to help an illegal Vietnamese locate his missing girlfriend as the pair board a bus bound for Pusan. North Korean-born Jin-Wook has just passed the citizenship course after crossing the border into South Korea, and now he's all set to settle down in a stripped-down Seoul apartment. Realizing that he lacks a blanket for the night, Jin-Wook sets out to the local mega-store and becomes so overwhelmed that he forgets how to find his way back home. Later, Jin-Wook hails a cab driven by North Korean ex-patriot Hae-Jung in hopes that he will better be able to locate his apartment block from the street. Though the pair does eventually reach Jin-Wook's apartment, it's only with the added assistance of the morning sun. A few days later, after boarding a bus bound for Pusan Jin-Wook makes the acquaintance of an illegal Vietnamese named Tingwoon. Tingwoon has set out in search of his girlfriend, who had recently arrived in Korea to marry a Korean husband. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi
