    great-never knew it would be

     by  cynthia1948

My daughter in law loves all Harry Potter movies. I never saw any until she showed me them. we even had this in the delivery room when my grandson was born and after in her room. I have to admit that even though my friends thought it was "witchy" and not a good influence-it was interesting and i was glad to be able to decide for myself.
i would imagine that knowing all of the stories-watched in a row-would be better. Actually you can catch up but if you have not done so, this is good on its own merits.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

     by  movieboi93

This movie left out too much I have to admit I was a little disappointed. Allthough what was in it was a exellent altogether. I just hope the next one has more facts that were from the book than this one. If you haven't seen the other movies than don't bother cause you won't get it, but if you have kept up with them then you should go see it.

    Two thumbs up!$!$

This in my opinon is better then the book. I thought every part of the movie was good. I simply loved it the origon of the story was good infact it was simply flawless. The best part was that final 45 minutes, you could not have asked any better then that. It's not my most favorite movie but it's simply one of them!!!

This is one of the best

Ok firs tgotta say to the cast and crew of OOTP: Great Job!! I loved the first 2 films, disliked the 3rd and Hated the 4th. With the way things were going I wasn't sure If I was going to buy the 5th on DVD. However me being a loyal Potter fan I was going to theaters to see it. I loved this movie from begining to end. It wasn't choppy and seemed to stay on focus. Also there wasn't a lot of Fade to Black that got on my nerves with the last 2 movies. there is nothing bad I can say about this movie. it is my favorite film in the series now. And I can't wait to see HBP because David Yates is directing. He did such a wonder ful job with this movie. The only negative to this film franchise is that there is not a commentary. I really would like a director's commentary on HBP and DH.

ok, i know the movie went out a looooooooooong time ago, but it was very good, but being a criticizing person, i hated how they left out so much of the book in the movie, but it was a great movie over all!

    Harry Potter 5

     by  garyfan

I'm not sure, after reading the critiques, that many people realize they are seeing the "creme de la creme" of British acting. When you have actors like Maggie Smith, Alan Rickman, Gary Oldman, Alan Gambon, Emma Thompson, Timothy Spall, Ralph Fiennes, Imelda Staunton, Brendan Gleeson, Robbie Coltrane all in one movie - what a treat! The other problem seems to be the constant comparisons to the book or, worse yet, people who haven't read the book and have trouble following the movie. Read the books and enjoy the movies!

An excellent addition to the series!

     by  sodapop1

After I walked out of the theater seeing Harry Potter 5 I said to myself "WOW!" The film has action, some funny humor, and fantasy violence. AWESOME! But the 5th film of Harry Potter is quite scary! Children under 11 should be cautioned! Evanna Lynnch who plays the lovely Luna Lovegood and Emma Watson who plays the genius Hermione Granger were the best in this film. Both lovely talented, and got style girls! Also this film has a message about Friendship! Showing that your true friends are always on your side! So all in all, definitely go see this movie! IT IS MAGICAL!

This was a tough book to adapt!

     by  thngwhtsqks

Of all the HP books, this was the toughest adaptation IMHO because it is so long and so episodic, this one book would actually work as it's own miniseries. Bearing that in mind, I think they took the key elements and made an enjoyable workable movie that holds true to the spirit of the book and beautifully depicts key scenes like the Ministry of Magic battle. Maybe I'm even in love with this movie simply for how much better it is than "Goblet of Fire," which made horrible choices - could it have killed them to spend a little more time bringing us in to the movie by doing an actual Quidditch scene? OotP the movie nicely moves along the greater story-arc and brings us the supremely nasty yet disgustingly cute Dolores Umbridge. Dobby and Winky may be missing, and Barty Crouch Jr. may be a bizarre Dr. Who with a snake-tongue move that drove me nuts, but it's still worth seeing and even owning for fans and newcomers alike.

I swear to God the movies just keep getting worse and WORSE!

I'm almost tempted not to see the Half-Blood Prince, which I'm going to anyways so then I can complain to my dad about how much they f**ked it up! My dad got an earful after I saw this one! I was furious! I mean Sirius' death was so underplayed. He was an important person to the main character and then Harry was totally like okay with it at the end! It was like they didn't have enough time to film it so they were like, 'Okay Dan we have to make this short, so just talk to Luna about, just make something up, and act all emo when you talk to Dumbledore. Annnd action!' I cannot stand the new actor for Dumbledore either! I really hated him in this one, I hated Daniel Radcliffe even more (He can't act!). The whole cast sucks in my opinion, ugh Tonks was dreadful. The only people I like of the cast are: Alan Rickman, yay Snape! Tom Felton, Oliver and James (aka the Weasley Twins), Rupert Grint, and the chick who plays Luna. And some other minor characters. I want my ten dollars back!
