I enjoyed this movie because it takes place in the real world and not Hogworth(sp?).

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows was very good and true to the elements in the book. I"m disgusted that I have to wait until next summer to see the rest becuse they built you up and leave you hanging.

Very dissappointing

I first of all want to begin by saying that I thought the 7th book in Harry Potter series was among the best pieces of fiction ever written. The movie, so sadly, is ponderous, at times incoherent, emotionally un-engaging and (dare I say it) boring. There are few moments of cinematic brilliance BUT they do not not make up for the overall mediocrity of this film. I never thought I would use the words boring, at times incoherent and mediocre to describe a Harry Potter movie but this one sadly deserves it. I fully expect Part 2 to be marvelous (given what I know of the story) but this film, on its own is a dud.

Cautiously optimistic...

I will absolutely go, but worth it? We'll see. It looks promising, but as HBP was such a disappointment (due to poor choices in the exclusion of vital elements to the story), one can hardly be 100% certain this will satisfy readers of the saga. Those who say readers are too picky about the facts should remember that millions of readers are the reason Harry Potter was taken from pulp to cinema in the first place. Imagine your favorite dessert whipped up by someone who omits certain vital ingredients. Wouldn't taste or please quite the same, would it? The fact that DH has been made into two films as opposed to one suggests more care has been taken to be true to the book. One can only hope.
