    I Loved This Movie

Really, Turran of the LA Times said it better than I could. Even Manohla Dargis of the NYT liked it. Dig up her review if you're curious. Made her top 10 list if I remember correctly.

Seek this movie out and watch it.

    An Absolute Joy

Sally Hawkins is dazzling, giving one of my favorite performances of the years. This film isn't for everybody, though; some may find Poppy extremely irritating. I, however, thoroughly enjoyed the film and found it charming. It left a smile on my face and raised some interesting questions. Is happiness a way of looking at the world, a choice that Poppy makes every day? The scenes with Hawkins and Eddie Marsan are especially great.

    Annoying

This movie was 2 hours about one of those people who I avoid in real life because they are so annoying. By the end of the movie I was laughing because it wasn't over yet. Do not waste your money or your time seeing this movie.

Happiness really is a state of mind

    by RandytheMovieFan

This was a delightful movie if you're looking for a chick flick or a date movie. The 2 hours went by pretty quickly. No explosions, no terrorist plots, just a slice of life movie. It revolves around a 30-year old school teacher in London who can find happiness in just every aspect of her life, or least doesn't despair for long when things go awry. You will leave with a smile on your face and stuff to talk about afterwards (just what was the point of the homeless man?). Warning - if you're naturally dour and look for the negative in everything, this movie will frustrate you and might make you want to tear your hair out.

    Annoying

I went to see this movie after seeing that the Chicago Red Eye newspaper named it #1 movie of 2008. As a person with an appreciation for good movies and independent films, I can understand why it got such great reviews. But I personally found the main character so extremely annoying I could hardly sit thru the movie. It has absolutely no plot what-so-ever, which is ok sometimes, but this movie was way too long to be plotless (it was over 2 hours). All this movie is about a woman in England who is always in a good mood. I wanted to pull my hair out after seeing this, and if I hadn't paid $11 to see it, there's no way i would've watched the whole thing.
