It was really mesmerizing and adventurous. Very touching, great for children to understand what is dedication, love, hurt, etc. It was outstanding.

What a wonderful family movie!  The sexual innuendos discussed in the movie is "over the top" for your babies to actually understand.  My husband and I loved the ole school music (i.e. Kiss by Prince and Boogie Wonderland by Earth Wind and Fire).  This song teaches children that it is ok to be different and to find their own "heartsong"- a song that helps to convey who they are and who they will become.  Yes, the movie was somewhat "long" and "preachy" -the message of animal conservation, however, the animation and the voices made it all worthwhile.  You be the judge and dance your way out of the theater!

P.S.  Use caution if you are taking children four and under.  There are a couple of scenes that will appear scary to them (animals attempting to eat other animals)

Good family fun - tree hugger message included

Overall a very fun movie, but it tries to send a "message" to the audience, but I wonder if it falls on deaf ears. The premise is ridiculous, but maybe kids will go along with the story. As an adult, the singing and dancing penguins were entertaining. Like March of the Penguins, the musical!

Not for small kids

I had been looking forward to taking my almost 2 year old to this movie. It was rated G and figured it wouldn't have anything too scary in it. Unfortunately this is not the case. There are three very scary scenes where animals are threatening the main character. They are scary not just because the animals are threatening the penguin but because the music is very loud, the animals teeth are very big and the 'camera' angle is right in the animals' faces so that it looks like they are coming after the audience. This movie is fine for older children that can handle these scenes but I would not recommend it for younger children. Also there is a message in the movie about humans affecting the food chain which is highly oversimplified and out of place, especially in a children's movie. On the plus side, the music is very well done.

It was the best movie that I saw with my family in a long time.  Everyone in the theatre was laughing and some people were even crying because they were laughing so hard.
