    H and G

    by

Campy, action packed adventure. It is being criticized for not being "factual". Rriiigghhttt...enjoy it for the fun adventure that it is supposed to be. It is not for little children; some nudity and lots of cursing.

    Good movie

Very entertaining. This movie was exactly what I thought it would be, nothing more, nothing less. Its fast pace kept me interested from beginning to end. Also, I absolutely love everything in 3D IMAX.

Should have been left in the woods

    by MedRed

Even with low expectations, Hansel & Gretel is corny, simple, predictable, and poorly acted.

A few good one liners and action scenes are overridden by bad one liners, repetitive fight scenes, and really, really bad CGI. I also don't think thigh thick branches of wood are supposed to flop as if they are made of rubber.

The only redeeming quality of this movie is the R rating that keeps it from being a total snore fest. Pass on this one.

If you like my reviews, add me as a fan. I'll add you back!

    Exactly as advertised

The title says it all, there should be no doubt about what this movie is about. I enjoyed the characters including the troll. The plot is predictable but that's to be expected. Lots of action, decent special effects and witches are dispatched with extreme prejudice. It was an entertaining movie and I'm looking forward to the sequel.

    Great Fun !

When J. Renner was asked about when this time was, he stated " it is a fantasy " so machine guns and injections in the 14th century is OK. After all folks it is just a movie nor some accuret time line.

    entertaining movie

this may not have been an academy award winner, but it was action packed easy to watch. had some gore, and wouldn't take younger children to see it, but it was fun.

    Seriously Waste of Popcorn

Hansel and Gretel stalls somewhere in the land between comic farce and lack luster story telling.

Character development of the two "heroes" is so spotty that your legs will be tired from all of the leaps of faith you have to make.

The witches are all about their face makeup... they must have all worked in a plaster of paris plant prior to coming on set for their camera calls.

The overall story line had a great deal of potential, but this execution kills more than witches - it kills any audience appeal it might have had.

Don?t waste your time or money. Even the theatre's popcorn can't save your evening.

    What does one expect?

    by atesim

    1) This is for adults.
    2) The inconsistent accents did bother me a little. I wanted to know where in the universe this could have been. Just because.
    3) If you're going to 3D the hell out of something, this film shows your how to do it right.
    4) The movie was an action packed could mouthed twist on the tale and I am sorry to say that I enjoyed it.
    5) I did love the wand magic and witch makeups were fantastic.
    6) Finally, for hard core critics, please check your expectations lest you be disappointed. Just try and have fun.

    Not exactly Jason Bourne!!!

    by LA Dave

Downs: Bad acting from start to finish and predictable. Jeremy Renner did not live up to his "Legacy" from the "Bourne" performance!

Up's: Spoecial effects were good and the ladies were delicious!

If you must see this movie then see it at the regular theatre, not IMAX or simply wait until its out on DVD/PPV!!!!

    this is NOT for kids

    Brothers Grimm meets Van Helsing

An action lovers 'well worth it'. Don't let the Title fool you, this is NOT for kids. A wry mix woven by storytelling and supernatural scenery where often misused themes of good and evil are refreshingly accurate in their simplicity. It is an In your face Good VS Evil non-stop romp through forests medieval and the tangled web of the soul of ancient inner Europe as seen through the Eyes of the authors.

Hansel and Gretal - Witch Hunters in IMAX 3D

    by Jan_Ric

Found the movie to be very entertaining with lots of action too.
Acting was good. Might be a little much for young people 10 and under.

Campy with a side of eye candy

    by Kylia

I'm not sure what to say about this movie, exactly. I didn't dislike it. However, I think it could have done more. The re were some seriously over the top moments and Famke Janssen's character was at the center of a lot of them. I do like the way it ended. I also feel there could have maybe been more witty banter and less cheese.

    Great fun

We saw it at an IMAX 3d theater in Wilmington DE. It was very good, a lot of action and gore but not over the top from our perspective. It is definitely worth seeing.
