    Fun!fun! Fun!!

Do not listen to the critics reviews!!! I mean really when do they ever enjoy anything that doesn't really and honestly put the rest of us to sleep?! This movie was fun, fast paced, and just the right amount of cheese lol. It's not meant to be serious. I mean that's in the title lol but BOTH myself and my husband thought it was so much fun and a great escape! It's over two hours but DOES NOT seem like it. It went by so quickly. Just go and have fun and don't go looking for anything but what it's supposed to be. An entertaining movie!!

    I believe they truly tried...

Good (not great) graphics wasted on terrible acting, could be somewhat attributed to very bad lines (writing). Missed opportunity on a good story idea. Not even a good video choice.

    Critics are stupid!

The movie was good, kinda funny, good action, good story. good 3d Don't go trying to be all introspective and taking things so seriously and you will enjoy it.

Not like Lincoln, More like Lincoln Vampire Slayer

    by SFCathy

To be honest I wasn't expecting this to be so campy. I think so many movies now are "epic" I just went into this movie expecting that, which was silly of me. So take a breath, think of how well you liked Hellboy, and if you did, then go see this one. If you like counting the kills in a movie, or how many times they say F***, you will have fun. And to be honest again, once I got my head out of the clouds, I did enjoy this movie.

    A blast

    by cdecoro

Yes, it's corny. Yes, it's absurdly anachronistic. But it's also a blast of an action movie. Don't go in expecting to see any Oscar-winning performance. But if you like action movies, you will be very entertained.

    Hansel & Gretel

My 14-year old daughter and I went and we enjoyed this movie. The 3-D effects were good but the story was predictable. There were some laugh out loud moments and lots of witch goo exploding. All in all, I would say this is a go!

    HIGHLY RECOMMENDED IN 3D

    by

Not only is the story plot absolutely brilliant in creativity and style, but seeing this movie in 3D was actually the best work I've seen! For the first time EVER, I was actually ducking from objects flying at me! I would not recommend this movie for children because of the darkness, but it is a fantastic one for adults! Laughs and adventure! Must see!!!!

    It was decent.

    by tmb6666

I think it was a good telling for the Hansel and Gretel fairytale and you actually got to go a little bit deeper with it. The 3D was fantastic! I would say it's a must see but I think the average movie goer will like it.

ABOUT WHAT YOU WOULD EXPECT AND MAYBE A BIT LESS

I didn't expect a cinematic masterpiece, just some good action and special effects with some witty lines and a bit of storytelling. The first two were present in abundance, but the last two were absent. Gemma Arterton's performance was interesting although uninspired, and Jeremy Renner wasn't just appropriately dry but downright flat. Famke Janssen gives the most interesting performance as the evil master witch. Unfortunately there just wasn't much added to the original story except a dozen ways to kill a witch. The end of the movie leaves the door wide open for a sequel, which I'll probably skip as the most interesting character has been slain.

    Hansel and Gretel

    by

Loved all the special effects. In 3-D this movie is amazing. I was surprised at how graphic it got for only PG-13 . I loved it more, wish they did it as an R. Hated the one liner jokes though. When I go see a dramatic movie, action packed, etc, It just ruins the whole movie when they make those one liner jokes. Now I just went from a serious movie to a Hollywood joke attempt at trying to be serious.
The popcorn here at the ICON really was bad. It was early, so I expected fresh. It was all crumbs, like at the bottom of your own bucket and extremely salty. I didn't ask for butter or it probably would have been greasy too. I ordered my ticket on line and no one was around me. When I got there, there were a family of kids blocking the aisle at the cash register making all kinds of noise. My luck all 8 sat behind me, making chatter, on cell phones and rude. They were even with their parents who were just as bad. I got up and sat in an empty seat 7 aisles away.

    Childrens story turned bad ass

A little twist to the original nursery story. the movie had a pretty good story and the action kept you going. The over the top blood and gore gave me a few laughs. if your looking for a serious movie this is not it. Take everything lightly and you'll enjoy this movie.

    Solid twist on classic tale

    by D-Nutz

This film is what it is...a fun, action-packed adventure flick with mild frights mixed in. Jeremy Renner (as Hansel) did an admirable job, however, Gemma Arterton (Gretel) was less than believable and downright wooden to be quite honest. The 3D visuals were pretty decent but sparingly on display in my opinion. All in all, solid if not spectacular flick, probably not worth the trip to the movie theater on its own accord but worth the rent when released on Bluray/DVD.

    H&G Kick Ass

This is a fun, albeit gory version of two kids wronged, now PO'd and payback has been happening for a long long time. Its fun to combine old time settings with modern day language.

This is no childhood bedtime story!

Not for the faint of heart if you don't tolerate decapitation and dismemberment very well. With driving metal music throughout and non-stop good versus evil action, what's not to like!
The evil elements are impaled, cut to shreds and burned up. I really enjoyed this fun flick. Hey, leave the kids at home.
