Hal W. Polaire enjoyed 40 years behind the scenes, working in various capacities on a handful of memorable films. While WWII was raging, Polaire worked as a lieutenant in Army Special Services and also worked for the U.S.O. Later, he took jobs in broadcasting in the Chicago and New York areas. He began working in the film industry in 1955, as an assistant director. Over the years, he gathered producing credits and became the head of worldwide production with ABC Pictures in 1969. Later in his life, he produced films independently. He was associate producer for Raging Bull and in 1988, he was the executive producer for Betrayed. ~ Ryan Shriver, Rovi
