Excellent movie! Saw it when it came out in 1978 and was happy to be able to see it on the big screen again. My all time favorite horror movie!!

This is one of my all time favorite scary movies the I first saw this movie when I was like 5 years old and I have never stopped watching it since Michael Myers is an object that can't stop killing behind the mask I would give this movie 100 out of 100 because this movie has a great story , plot and a great cast

My favorite horror movie of all time

At the time, I was 13 years old and watched this on HBO on Halloween night. It scared the crap out of me and I had nightmares for months afterwards. Now, thirty+ years later, I watch it as often as I can and it still remains at the top of the list for me for many reasons. I think what sets this apart from many great horror movies are the little things, the intangibles. The mood and the ever-present sense of impending doom. A good script and well shot, but the one thing that does it for me is the soundtrack to the film, that creepy music has never been, and I have yet to witness it since, so important to the film. John Carpenter has written/directed/scored a true masterpiece that relies more heavily on what you can't see but you know is going to happen. it is that edge of your seat filmmaking that I enjoy most.

I've seen this movie countless times, so I thought I wouldn't be too scared, but seeing it in the theater again really adds to the scare factor. Plus I saw things I'd forgotten happened in the movie. Great idea bringing it back to the big screen.

This movie continues to be the standard that all horror/slayer films are measured.
