    Hairspray

     by  CarriD

I work in a hospital and this movie has been playing over and over on one of our movie channels. :-) It really is a cute movie. Seeing John Travolta playing a woman makes me smile every time I see it. Good rental material. My husband didn't care much for it, he is not into musicals though.

The only thing better than Hairspray, is nothing!

My point of view is like living in Hairspray. I am a massive fan of musicals but I was blown away on how amazing this was. I am a huge fan of the 1988 movie and the broadway play. I thought it would be a chick flick type of thing and would make me feel uncomfortable but it didnt. The songs are just great, I listen to them on my ipod constantly. I have to admit the hairstyles are a lot better than the original. Penny and Seaweed, where do I begin? It seemed so easy for them to play lovers who cannot be together but do what their heart tells them. Mrs. Pingleton cracked me up. I absolutley loves when she tied her daughter to the bed and turned on gospel music. Nikki Blonsky is amazing! I am jelous of her voice! She's so great. Zac Efron, I hated him but know I'm in love with him! His singing voice just pulled together with his regular voice. He improved from High School Musical. John was hilarious as Edna as a sexy huge woman. And Corny Collins was the hottest host ever! Must see movie!

    Hairspray

If you liked the movie "Grease" Then you'll like this movie too. I thought John Travolta's role was really funny and it probaly took alot of time to dance in heels like he did. He's still got it.

    Just wow.

This movie has amazing performances, with all characters. I'm not partial to John Travolta's performance but he's really good at it and you can really get into it. You can't help but love all of the characters. MUST MUST SEE. Will have you dancing by the end of it.

    Odd & Not Particularly Entertaining

     by  amp2147

Personally, I found John Travolta to be weak with this role. I found the fact that he played the girl to be random at best, and incredibly annoying and creepy at worst. Honestly, I saw this on a flight to Argentina and I would have been even more let down had I paid to rent or buy the DVD. I generally like musicals, but if you have even the slightest doubts about this one, I would save your time and not see it.

    Hm...

I'm not the biggest fan of musicals, but this one had good songs. They were rather catchy and had good tunes.

John Travolta made a great mother by the way X3

I like the time placement of the movie, personallty I love the 30's, 40's, 50's, 60's, 70's and 80's and wish I lived in one of those eras now.

I thought the movie was extremely corny, probably too corny...

I liked the movie, but I don't think i'll be watching it again anytime soon.... Maybe when I have kids....

Although there was a very talented cast the movie just lacked a certain something.
