I saw this movie a few days ago and there is only one for to describe it: "WOW"! Everyone in the audience was laughing, clapping, and singing! It was a great film! Without giving away too much of the film, the entire cast was amazing! Make this the MUST SEE summer movie! This film will make you feel good!

Spectacular

I was a bit skeptical at first--the play was amazing and touching. How could they transfer it to the big screen? They not only succeeded--they created the greatest stage-to-screen musical I've seen in YEARS. Nikki Blonsky performed the role of Tracy perfectly. Her enthusiasm and talent was evident the entire film. As usual, the High School Musical crew was fabulous, displaying their talents and sense of humor. I usually despise Christopher Walken, but he was really believable as Mr. Turnblad. As for John Travolta, I didn't like him much at first but the scenes towards the end redemed him. (I saw the play with Harvey Firestein- you don't get much better than that) The theater (AMC 42nd Street, New York) was packed and everyone was enjoying themselves. People were clapping after each number, singing along, laughing out loud, and crying. The diversity of the NY crowd made it even better. I would recommend this film to anyone who wants to have a good time and a good laugh. Enjoy!
