    It was okay...

To be honest, I expected more from this movie. Not even worth the 3D... Yes, the graphics were nice and all, but if you saw it, it felt like it needed more. There are some parts where you wonder,"Hey, what happened to this and that?!", which leaves out room for another sequel, but I'm not really expecting another one. For me, Reynolds was only there to show off his body and chipmunked face. His acting skills were mediocre along with some of the other actors. The love scenes were very clique... Couldn't stand it when the lovebirds were close to each other by 4 inches, and they were talking the entire time. The effects were great, and lots of action in their. Last of all, Reynolds character had a lack... Mm, let me think... Oh, I know! Creativity? Most of them were very childish.
Overall, a decent movie for the teenagers, who have plenty of time to waste, to see. If you want something that has a good plot, then just watch Thor or X-Men First Class. Save your money on this movie... -__-

    Green Lantern is GOOD !

I am not sure why this tale of the GL is not being received as well as it should. It is a good movie! Certainly not as good as the last Batman, but definitely better than ALL the Superman movies.

Every movie can be made better in hindsight. That is why George brought back Star Wars three times!

I found this adventure to move quite fast for the first half hour, then ease its way into the story after fast character and background story development. Even Leonard Maltin liked it!

This is a GO SEE in the theater movie.

    Why such bad reviews?

I am not sure why the reviews were bad. I guess my assumption is the predictable nature of the movie. I did like the pacing of the love story. At the request of my friends, I did watch the animated movie - the storyline is much better in the animation than the movie.

    Green Lantern......red light.

As a huge DC comics fan I was highly disapointed in this movie for many reasons. The acting wasn't that great for one, and the story line needed alot of work. It seems jthat ust when the movie was kicking off and getting a little interesting it ended. I expected a whole lot more from this movie and was glad that I waited for the DVD release and not wasting my money at the theater. On a side note the CGI was outstanding. Watch at your own risk.

    Go Green

    by Koali

For a superhero comic brought into moving picture mode this is perfection. I knew it was either panned or praised and I just wanted to see for myself. It is excellent. It neither blows out the comicbook nor diminishes it. It is a parallel. Loved it. Very impressed with the smoothness to keep the authenticity. Perfectly cast. Script right off the pages of a comic series. Not too much or too little of anything. OK - I just read right now that the director Mathew Campbell isn't happy with the editing. So perhaps we are in for a release of the director's preferred movie version. Fine with me. If not I still like this one.

    Good, but...

...It could have been sooo much better. The tried to shove to many things into this film. It had the potential to be a great comic book/superhero movie, but instead had to settle for just being an ok and entertaining one. Ryan Reynolds turned out to be a good choice for Hal Jordan, just to bad the rest of the movie didn't stand up to his performance. Blake Lively was better than expected. The movie should have been more Full Metal Jacket, meaning how FMJ followed Matthew Modine during training for most the movie, this film should have done the same for Hal Jordan. Not enough Sinestro, Kilowog and the other Lanterns. A huge chance missed here by Warner Brothers, they need to let DC have a more hands on approach to these properties from now on, the way Marvel does with their's. WB was just lucky to have a film maker like Chris Nolan take over the Batman franchise, because it sure seems like their other properties have been more miss than hit.

    Green On the Big Screen!

This movie is good in my opinion, I'm not saying its the best movie ever, but I'm also not saying its the worst movie ever!
It has great action scenes, the CGI is great! and the plot is solid
    The Acting was good
If your not a fan of comic book movies, I wouldn't recommend you watch it, this is a solid-good movie for comic book movie fans

Are you a 11 year old boy?

I'd take a pre-teen boy to see this but as for me (a 30ish mom), I fell asleep. Rent it on video and play cards while your middle schoolers watch it.

    Just okay

Generally liked the movie but didn't think there was any chemistry between the two leads. And they are supposed to be childhood sweethearts?? Really? The 10+ age difference wasn't an issue? Too much time was wasted on scenes between Ryan and Blake - snooze. Needed a lot more action.

    Green Lantern

    by slthiel

My husband and I saw this movie for the second time Saturday. It was worth seeing the first and second time. There is a lot of detail and action. The computer graphics were awsome. Very creative artist worked on this movie. Not being a combic book addict myself I was surprised the first time I liked it so well. It was a good story line, and yes the hero always gets the girl.

    A fun time.

This is not for the hardcore fanboy. This is a movie that will entertain for the 2 hours and not make you think too much. That's fine for a summer popcorn movie. I think the sequel, (and there should be a sequel) will kick it up a notch. Without spoiling it for the fanboys that haven't seen it, the movie ends and the credits begin to roll. After the major stars' names appear, there is about another 30 seconds of film that will set up the story for the sequel. Fanboys will get excited for about 10 minutes afterwards knowing what to expect. The others will just have to ask their fanboy friends what the ending meant. All in all, a good fun time.
