With a movie nominated for 10 Oscars and winning a total of 7 you can expect a magnificent well made movie. Oscar winner director Alfonso Cuaron takes you on a high flying adventure that's out of this world. Staring Sandra Bullock (Ryan stone) and George Clooney (Matt Kowalski) Two astronauts face a life or death situation, when a chain reaction caused by a Russian missile strike sends the two astronauts adrift they are forced to cope with the fact that they may never be rescued.

Great special effects. Good acting by Sandra Bullock. BUT the character development is really thin, and the plot is entirely predictable. How did we know Bullock would get back to Earth safely???? Felt short-changed by the plot thinness. Why didn't someone on the pre-Oscar chit-chat TV shows warn us of the near-vacuum of plot in outer space??? But if you must see it, see it on a big screen. We're sorry it wasn't still showing in IMAX in our region. Wonderful cinematography and a lot of "How did they do that?" effects. But my respect for the "critics" has been undermined. -jay

Well, it's official - this is the last time I go see a movie just because Sandra Bullock is in it. This movie was a complete bust. Can't even begin to describe the lack of EVERYTHIING that makes a movie a good one. Don't waste a minute of your time or a penny of your money on this bomb...

My husband loves space movies and he liked this one way more than I did. I found the story very shallow and lacking anything I could really get into. Visually, it's amazing and that sort of keeps your attention but the dialogue is just not that great. I can't understand what it's nominated for so many Oscars. But go see it if you love space movies. I guess it's worth seeing just for the effects. Just don't expect too much!
