Saw it in IMAX 3D the first night. I think everyone in the audience had seen the trailer where the shuttle is hit with debris and Sandra goes flying off into space, and everyone was probably thinking the same thing I thought: "Alright, how are you going to impress me now, movie?" My expectations were pretty much blown away. Best use of 3D I've ever seen (and I still think 3D is gimicky) and the thing that stuck with me the most afterward was the feeling of being in outer space. Loved it. Scenes bridged well from one interesting idea to another and at 90 minutes run time, I never felt bored - I wanted it to go on longer (and I had to pee real bad; went to Lucille's and had a couple beers prior). Aside from a few scenes where Sandra says something completely unnecessary (and totally, dumbed-down, movie-cliche dialogue-type stuff) I enjoyed myself the entire way through. The epic-ness of this movie totally redeems any negatives you might pick the movie apart for.

If you have ever been to Disney and gone to one of those 3D movie rides, expect the same here only for 90 minutes long - when it ended I felt like I was getting off a ride
The objects flying in space sometimes appear to be coming close to your face
You absolutely feel like you are in space with Sandra Bullock and George Clooney
Basically it is a space survival movie and it kept me glued to the screen
I came out unsure if it was all I heard it was suppose to be but when I described it all to someone else today it did appear there was much more depth to the movie than I originally felt
I am glad to have seen it in IMAX 3D and recommend it to all who liked space tv shows and movies

My husband & I went to see this at the IMAX, while this was only the 2nd time that we saw a movie at the IMAX, we were not dissappointed. Every aspect of this movie was amazing, from the acting, to the directing & the cinematography (we actually were ducking & dodging as if the space debris was going to hit us). Fun night out & worth the money for the ticket.

If you ever dream of what it would be like to be in space - directly above earth -looking at all the beauty that is overwhelming that our planet then this is one movie you might love. I was thrilled with the 3DIMAX experience that part gave; however, there were too many things that went wrong - not just one but many. Would be nicer for me and what I was hoping for, to not have so much drama but more reality. I found myself there-in space with them almost as if I was part of their team. I loved this film. This is a film for adults due to the constant fear feelings.

I rarely call a movie awesome and this one definitely merits it IMHO. Decent storyline and the acting was spot on. What elevated this to Awesome status was the 3D! I saw it on an IMAX 3D screen (expensive as hell!) and was blown away. The 3D wasn't there as just a gimmick. The director knew precisely how it should be used. For me, I wasn't just watching a movie on a large screen, but I was truly immersed. My wife & I caught ourselves on more than one occasion legitimately trying to dodge flying debris. Adults and older children (10+) will really enjoy it. Smaller children might get a little freaked out due to the immersive quality of the movie. The movie may feel too real for them. Heck, it felt too real to me and I'm 51! I decided to take a chance to spend almost $20 per person on the IMAX 3D experience. I can't imagine the movie still having the same impact on a non-3D screen. For me the 3D was its own character behind that of Bullock and Clooney.
