If you like staring at a 50 foot Sandra Bullocks face close up for a long period of time while she whines and takes deep breaths, this movie will be 5 stars. Waste of a great idea and stunning effects.

Stunning! I haven't seen a movie in 3D at an IMAX since Polar Express (I'm almost 60) ! This movie made me a fan of 3D as much as anything. The movie just wouldn't be nearly as visually stunning if it hadn't been in 3D. Awesome entertainment - Go See It - I'll go again. The IMAX cost worth every penny.

Don't get me wrong, this is a MUST GO movie and it's worth the extra $$ to see it in IMAX 3D. BUT, I didn't think it was as good as the hype. Sandra does a good job, but I wouldn't give her the Best Actress. George was good, but thought his performance was a little flat. Overall I would give it an A-. In case you are wondering about my scale, Return of the King was and A+ and Nuns on the Run was an F-

Reminds me of 'The Perfect Storm.'

Special effects were amazing, especially in 3D and IMAX. But when action wasn't happening, not much else was. I found myself dozing off a little and fighting to stay awake. It's either a lot of crap being blown to smithereens or a lot of floating in space doing nothing. Still, the movie was unique as far as concept. It's definitely an experience.

I've been going to the movies for over 40 years, and this one ranks in my top 5 of all time! Do yourself a favor and see it in IMAX 3D. I usually avoid 3D like the plague, but we finally have a movie that shows what can be done with the technology. Grade A storytelling, acting, directing, music, and cinematography. Do not miss it!
