Gravity

Gravity was very hyped and while the visual effects were awesome, they made my friend motion sick. There was too much spinning trying to enforce that you were in fact in space. There should have been a warning posted somewhere for people with motion sickness.

Gravity doesn't have much weight

Cinematography and special effects are incredible and are worth seeing. The movie plot, while intriguing, has the fantastic un-believability of "The Adventures of Baron von Munchausen" (which was delightful because it was so unbelievable it was written to be comedic). The idea of a MD (i) inexperienced in space, (ii) reading and comprehending instruction manuals in a matter of seconds, and (iii) who twice crashed simulated training landings randomly, but in real world extremis successfully punching buttons in first a Russian, then a Chinese space station, is a little much. I get the message--don't give up, but the message in the good Baron's comedy was the same. Bullock was good. Her best moment, in my view, was the scene when is first separated from the space station. She did a terrific job of capturing the fear and anxiety of such an experience. Clooney's head did a nice job, as well. I would not see this movie again.

WHY SHOULD WE CARE?

I agree there was little character development. should have shown some interaction inside the capsule - that would have been interesting. just never cared that much about her. Felt our emotions were being manipulated, and not expertly. Of course, the special effects were great.

I,'m sure 3d helped his film. There was no need for any fake 3d items coming at you. Everytime there was a break in the action a new problem arose. Go see this movie.

Implausible, but fun

As we left the theater, my husband and I were shaking our heads at all the things that were just plain implausible. I can't share any without a spoiler alert. At the same time, the cinematography and special effects were great, and it was just plain entertaining. There are lots worse ways you can spend 90 minutes -- go see it in 3D!
