GOOD NIGHT, AND GOOD LUCK = Very Good Film
David Strathairn is perfectly cast as iconic news journalist Edward R. Murrow in this atmospheric account of his public assailing of Senator Joseph McCarthy during the infamous Communist 'witch hunt" hearings in the early 1950s. George Clooney masterfully directs a great ensemble cast including himself, Robert Downey, Jr., Frank Langella and Patricia Clarkson. Gorgeous b&w photography enhances the themes of standing up to injustice and never compromising your ideals in the face of great personal risk. A great text-book example of how to create the zeitgeist of an era without a big flashy budget. Well done film all around!
