Shocked
This was by far not a movie worth seeing! unless you want to see something bad. I expected more from Ben Affleck. More from Morgan Freeman (in his choice of movie). Morgan Freeman has a great character in this movie, but he is only in it for about 10 minutes.
The plot is bad from the begining. The ending was even worse.
The acting was good. But the directing and plot were BAD.
The begining starts off slow. It picks up in action but then go nowhere. And at the point where you think maybe just maybe it is going to take a turn and become a good movie. It gets worse. I have watched 100s of 1000s of movies. This one ranks in the bottom of my list!

Mixed Feelings
I rated this so-so for the plot, but would give it a must go for Ben Affleck's directing and Casey's acting. They make a great team.. Amy Ryan was fantastic as well. The movie has a few interesting plot twists, once those are revealed, the ending is not a surprise.
I thought the movie Mystic River was entirely overrated, and I feel the same way about this Dennis Lehane book-turned-film.

It was all in the ending
I was really impressed by this movie and ultimately surprised that the ending hadn't been given away to me before seeing it. I enjoyed the plausibly real life drama and had nooo idea it was going to end the way it did. In fact, I thought the movie was over within the first 45 minutes but it successfully shot in a totally different direction to keep me interested.
If you don't want to see a happy go lucky movie and can handle some sad truths about child abuse and abduction, then check this film out.

GONE BABY GONE OUT ON DVD 2/12
I did not get a chance to see this movie in theater, but I was REALLY glad I saw it on DVD. It was like watching the Affleck brothers each come into their own in front of your eyes. Casey did a great job, a really mature performance. Although, at times I could not understand what he was saying -- a side-affect of the South Boston locale. Brother Ben, has taken a great script and crafted a really interesting film. Great use of flashbacks and "snippets of reality". All the hype you've heard and read is true. There are lots of twists and turns and nothing is exactly what it seems. If you missed this film in theater, I would defintely recommend grabbing the DVD. The Ben Affleck commentary is also defintely worth watching.

Gone Baby Gone
Great writing and acting, with an overall performance that stood up to the book itself. Amy Ryan was amazing in her role as the missing child's mother.

Gone Baby Gone
This movie had a good premise but was very slow moving. I thought it was over after the first 45 minutes and somehow they found a way to make it go on. I don't recommend it!
