I saw this movie a few months ago, and it was definitely a good movie, but had some extremely disturbing scenes. In the end, the main charactor must make a difficult decision, and it's hard to determine which is better. I left wanting more from this movie, wishing it had gone the other way. Go see it, but be warned, it will make you question your own morality.
P.S. This movie may have been edited since I have seen it. Hopefully, they changed the ending.

This strong directing debut by Ben Affleck was very well written and full of intense dialogue. As private detectives, Casey Affleck and Michelle Monaghan investigate a case of a missing child. Amy Ryan has a stand-out performance as the unsympathetic low-life mother of the missing child who winds up making all the wrong decisions. There are some graphic scenes, but this movie keeps you on the edge of your seat until the very end. The story gradually unfolds and keeps you guessing all the way through. One of the best movies I have seen this fall. See it in theatres!

I rated this so-so for the plot, but would give it a must go for Ben Affleck's directing and Casey's acting. They make a great team.. Amy Ryan was fantastic as well. The movie has a few interesting plot twists, once those are revealed, the ending is not a surprise.
I thought the movie Mystic River was entirely overrated, and I feel the same way about this Dennis Lehane book-turned-film.
