Gloria DeHaven was the daughter of the popular "polite comedy" stage-and-film team of Mr. and Mrs. Carter De Haven. DeHaven made her screen debut as one of Paulette Goddard's younger sisters in Charles Chaplin's Modern Times, on which her father was assistant director.
