I liked it

After seeing the previews I was very excited when it was released. It met my expectations. I like the time period, the costumes. Loved Emma Stone in the Jessica Rabbit dress. Josh Brolin was the perfect stoic (just as he was in MIB3) and the only person I could think of besides Sean Penn to play psycho gangster would be Joe Pesci (ala Casino) but he's too old. Penn was perfect. A little on the gory side which reminded me of a Lionsgate film. Recommend it.

Noir? Action? Graphic?

I still didn't get it. Lots of recalling of famous movies, but characters with little or no depth. Dialogue ridiculous at time? (Emma Stone at the bar with Ryan Gosling one, for example, Really??)

I don't see what the Critic's are thinking. I found the movie entertaining, full of shootouts and action, plus Sean Penn really nailed being a bad guy (and I don't generally like him as an actor). I say Go.

Old school gangster

I really enjoyed this flick. Good to see Sean Penn doing his thing. Those 5 guys had a lot of balls to take on the entire Mickey Cohen outfit. The ending was good...was waiting for a twist that never happened and it was little predictable but it was fun to watch it play out. The fashion of this time period piece was so cool...what a great time to be young and alive.
