This was a really entertaining movie and definitely spurred a great crowd experience in the theater! If you just want a great night to relax and be entertained this is a great movie for men and women of any age. I was really surprised at how funny it was yet still captured the enchantment and intrigue of all gangster/mob movies.

The film was good, very entertaining, definitely worth the time and money spent in the theater. The story was decent, there were a few holes in it, places where you question, couldn't they have done something other than that, but its almost one of those, you see the trailer you know whats gonna happen. There weren't really any surprises or amazing moments but it should have you on the edge of your seat for most of the movie. Sean Penn was great, Ryan Gosling was decent, he kinda sounded like "Micky Doyle" from Boardwalk Empire, but at parts the high-pitched accent was in and out.

Gangster squad is moderately entertaining. It is bullet ridden and angry and filled with tough talk. There really isn't much to it other than watching the beautiful Emma Stone bantering with Ryan Gosling which comprises the best parts the movie. In between these scenes there is nothing but tough sounding banter between Sean Penn and the Cops and guns firing with infinite bullets.

Not a deep drama by any means; plot is thin and predictable. But a great action picture, just go along for the ride and be entertained, don't over think it.
Love the texture of the period for LA portrayed - clothing, architecture, the cars, etc.

Vigilante brigade strives to rid Los Angles of its Jewish mobster, “Mickey Cohen”; a plastic caricature by Sean Penn. It is 1949 and a corps of terrific actors comprise the “squad”; they had to have had a riotous time making this “B” movie about lawless LA and cops gone rogue, cauterizing Cohen’s notorious cabal of amoral thugs. If you are in the mood for a “shoot ‘em up”, good versus evil scenario “Gangster Squad” satisfies the craving. This is the time of year when we are smothered with insufferable fluff; mindless violence (concur with filmmaker Charles Evered about the unnecessary, ubiquitous, “mushrooming of mayhem”) vampire mania, a plethora of exorcist candidates, taunting, crippling comprehension; escapism at the remedial level...
