A better version of G.I. Joe than the last movie, but still not the action movie most fans want. Some interesting twists, and some very good action scenes. This isn't The Avengers, but a good movie for a fun afternoon.

This is one of those rare sequels that is better than the original [They were supposed to release it last year but they decided to shoot a few extra scenes with a certain actor , after he became even more popular] . Arnold [Zartan] sets a trap for the G.I. Joe team that decimates the team . Dwayne [Roadblock] , Adrianne [Lady Jaye] and Ray P [Snake Eyes] are a few of the survivors that mount a counter offensive against the forces of Cobra . Ray S [Firefly] is on the bad guys team , that tries to finish off the remaining Joe members . There are a few cameo appearances and plenty of action and fight scenes . It is being shown in 3D & IMAX 3D .
It is rated "PG-13" for violence and language and has a running time of 1 hour & 50 minutes .
I thoroughly enjoyed it and I would buy it on Blu-Ray .

Just came back from watching GI Joe: Retaliation.... It was an awesome movie hands down and was 10 times better then the first. Great acting from everyone especially Bruce Willis and Dwayne Johnson! I loved the new breakout star D.J. Cotrona as Flint. This movie had great Special Effects and a solid plot that just blows your mind! The fight scenes were incredible and my overall favorite scene was the ending showdown between Dwayne Johnson and Ray Stevenson's characters.. The only downside is the waiting a whole extra year for the movie release... Channing Tatum's 10 extra mins was not worth the extra year long wait (yes he dies and no he doesn't come back) I believe this is a movie for all ages and was worth every penny spent! Can't wait for the 3rd one!!

...Whoa nelly. After waiting four years, I was expecting a much deeper film. What do I mean by "deep"? I mean plot-driven, visually captivating, and a lot of character development. I was merely satisfied by the first movie, "Rise of Cobra". It was action-packed, but it left a lot of loose ends and several opportunities for further growth. I was hoping to see that.
What I got instead was a cheesy, overhyped, pyrotechnic-driven nightmare, with Dwayne Johnson, not Channing Tatum, at the helm. The Rock uses all of his WWE acting skills to pummel the daylights out of all hope I had for this movie. The plot was so very outlandish and ridiculous, even for a GI Joe sequel. It left me with a sense of incredulity that I particularly hate when leaving the theater.
Bruce Willis was the only redeeming quality; his humor and mere presence made me feel like I only wasted half of my movie ticket expense. But otherwise, don't bother on this one.

The entire movie started off on the wrong foot. Too much time had passed between the two stories. What were the "nano wars"? There was no tie-in to the G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra and no resolution of any of the threads left open from the end of G.I. Joe 1. What happened to Baroness? Was she cured? Where did Ripcord Scarlett, and General Hawk go? The first movie had great production values and special effects. This had nothing more than a few explosions, cheesy jokes and a thin to nonexistent story. Don't waste your money. I can't imagine how bad the movie would have been if they didn't delay the release for almost a year. Utter crap.
