GI: Uh-Oh!

This move was way more hyped than developed. The plot is pretty straight forward, if you believe in over the top villians trying to take over the world. But played out on screen is a jumble of action scenes that are supposed to be enteratining. However, the shakey camera work and too-fast movements just don't lend itself well to the 3D format; things just become a blur. And you would think that Channing Tatum could redeem the picture, but he's on screen for 10 mins tops! Totally not worth the ticket price. I say at least wait for Redbox.

Not as Good as the First

The best thing about this movie: Every scene with Bruce Willis in it. The sword fighting scenes are also pretty good, particularly the one on the side of the cliff. Everything else was kind of meh. Seeing futuristic helicopters and stuff was neat but not exceptional. Maybe I've seen too many action movies, but there wasn't as much "omg that was awesome!" as I was hoping for. All the good guy characters are new and weren't in the first movie, which I didn't like either, the exception being the guy that you never see his face and he doesn't talk (Snake Eyes). I'm all for new characters, but what about the old? Sheesh. That said, the new characters did very well and were fun to watch interact. There was one thing I really didn't like, though. In 3D, they kept throwing things directly at you instead of just slightly past you, very annoying. If you liked the first movie you'll probably like this one, but don't expect miracles. It's not bad, but it's not great either.

Great movie, nail-biting cliff scenes, Dwayne Johnson really steals the show! I thought there would be a teaser after the credits, no such luck! Go see it and hope they make another!

Not bad...

The 3D is a little off and some of the action sequences were unexplained or perhaps unexplainable. Very poor job at letting the viewer in on locations and the only character you actually develop a connection with, is not very relevant to the story, if you can call it that. My assumption is that the editors screwed the pooch on this one. A lot of action sequences, but the story was either not very well created or not shared with the viewer at all. However, in the end, the action sequences were really good, especially when it involved the ninjas. For my money, it was a decent movie, but definitely not the best we've seen, or come to expect, from The Rock or Bruce Willis.

WAAAYY better than the first one. This movie doesn’t take itself seriously and the actions scenes did not have so many camera tricks that it confuses you. To bad this was not to worthy for 3D (I don’t know why all these companies film everything in 2D, then spend extra time and money to convert it back to 3D). Character acting was just fine for this type of movie. Only a few stupid (one REALLY stupid) scene but the action makes up for it. One more thing, action movies as long as this one tend to really feel long but this one didn’t because everything was satisfying (except for that one stupid scene). 7/10 (save your money and don’t go for 3D, or go all out and see it in AVX)
