As someone who grew up with G.I.Joe, i think that they missed it on this one. Sure, the names might be there, but it seems that that is all there is tying it to the original. If you want to see action and explosions, pleanty of those.

My 11 year-old Liked It! Me...I just Wanted to See Dwayne Johnson!

I took my 11 year-old son. He enjoyed it and basically so did I. I got what I came for, Dwayne Johnson in all his beautifully buffed kick-***glory. I mean the man is just exquisite! To be honest, I could have slept through every scene he wasn't in, especially since I did not grow up on GI-Joe, therefore can only vaguley identify the characters based on second-hand information from my son. The cinematography, was awesome, the effects with the 3-D was a bit lacking in my opinion but alas...Dwayne looked awesome. He had a few funny lines and that smile, those pecs...what I wouldnt do...sorry, I digress. However, I would go to every sequal in the franchise as long as he's in it. As for the writing, directing, acting and dialogue, well you just don't expect much of that in a film like this...The kids want to see their favorite characters, action buffs want, well, the action and I want to see Dwayne Johnson. Check, check and check. Oh, and Bruce Willis was cool too!

Bullets whizzing past your head, lots of action and lets not forget the one liners from Bruce Willis. If you are one whom really likes action and plans on seeing this definitely go 3D for this one. The Rock is at his top game and Tatum inspiring. This is a great movie about how G.I.Joe has to protect itself from all people whom would want them eliminated. The cliff fight is extraordinary and the ending leaves a smile on your face. I would recommend for a afternoon at the movies.

I didn't really grow up on G.I. Joe but I thought it was worth the money. I love the action and The Rock is awesome!
