Ferdinand (Thierry Lhermitte) is a 30-year-old blind virgin who hopes to have sex in this black comedy. He lives in a religious institution and is not beyond making passes at nuns. When the asylum is bombed, Ferdinand escapes and hooks up with Binet (Jean Yanne), a killer being tracked by the obsessed cop La Fouine (Martin Lamotte). The two make it to the whorehouse run by the killer's sweetheart Lotte (Marie Laforet), where the grateful Ferdinand finally is introduced to sex. A particularly bizarre but satisfying scene shows a murdered Nazi officer being chopped to pieces and mistaken for black-market meat.
