FROM PARIS WITH LOVE. Grade: A-minus. (Based on advance VIP press preview on Thursday Jan. 29th. 2010)

Written January 29, 2010
This taut action-packed well-edited well-scripted high-quality production stars John Travolta and Jonathan Rhys Meyers. I had low expectations going into the advance preview but FROM PARIS WITH LOVE totally blows me away. So far, it is the BEST action movie of 2010. Luc Besson(The Fifth Element, District B 13: The Ultimatum) and Adi Hasak share screen-writing credit. Director Pierre Morel(TAKEN, District 13, and soon-to-be new adaptation of Frank Herbert's beloved 'DUNE') managed to serve up a stunningly violent yet intelligent 92-min movie - assisted by the talented cast and great production team. The story/plot possess tremendous relevance in the current political climate. I was mesmerized by the compelling performances by both John Travolta and Jonathan R. M. - who both play anti-terrorist U.S. agents. John Travolta's devil-may-care attitude was a joy to experience. The movie's predictable ending earned it the minus grade. VERDICT: Highly recommended

I have to say I was a little leery of this movie. I mean don't get me wrong, Travolta is a decent actor, but sometimes his performance seems a little...dry. I figured the plot would be the same 'ol rehash that is prevalent in Hollywood. I was wrong. With this movie, frankly I was surprised. His performance was out standing, and the best from him I have ever seen. Now I would have to say this film is definitely not for children, as there is a bit of violence. But if you like action with some comedy thrown in, then this movie is for you. Personally I plan on purchasing this movie when it is released on Blu-ray. Enjoy!

Exciting, sexy, hard-core...the reason I love movies.

Critics & syncs will write how this was far from perfect in great detail I'm sure, but this is the kind of movie I like to go see (at midnight, opening night). Up-tight, judgmental losers who don't know how to go to the movies and have fun will pick it apart, it's far from perfect, but don't listen or be one of the losers, THIS MOVIE WAS SHOOT EM UP BANG BANG FUN! I LOVED IT! but that is just the humble opinion of a big kid who likes to have a good time at the movies.
