Hint: if you a<wbr />re expecting a movie version of the sensational <wbr />Broadway show you will be surprised, and I dare <wbr />say disappointed. (This is what I gather from ne<wbr />gative reviews that compare it to the show.) I a<wbr />dmit I was shocked in the beginning at the imper<wbr />fect singing. Some of it thin, breathy, even off<wbr />-pitch. But before too long I was swept away. No<wbr />, this movie is a different treatment. And brill<wbr />iant in MHO. The characters are real, the story <wbr />is real. The singing is real and raw and robust <wbr />and tender. Anne Hathaway&#39;s &quot;Dream a Dream&quot; perf<wbr />ormance is utterly devastating. It started the t<wbr />ears for me and I never recovered. I saw it agai<wbr />n on the 27th and the 29th.
