Tarantino tells the story of Django, a black man<wbr /> that went from being enslaved to being a hero. <wbr />  He didn&#39;t portray the time of slavery as bad a<wbr />s he could have, but being a spaghetti western, <wbr />it was true enough.  Foxx was great as Django, b<wbr />ut towards the end his comedic personality start<wbr />ed to seep through.  DiCaprio was okay, no real <wbr />depth there, but Waltz as Dr. Schultz was excell<wbr />ent as expected. Samuel Jackson played &#39;Head Neg<wbr />ro&#39; Stephen with great nuance.  His character ac<wbr />ted the old fool, but was actually the evil calc<wbr />ulating henchman that made the dynamics of the c<wbr />haracters more enjoyable.  Kerry Washington had <wbr />her moments, and gave us a clear picture of the <wbr />abuse black women suffered in those times.  Dire<wbr />cting, Cinematography, set and costume were on p<wbr />oint. Though the pacing slowed in the middle, an<wbr />d the tone changed from western to heist movie, <wbr />DJANGO UNCHAINED IS the Modern Classic Western. <wbr />Geek Soul Brother gives it 4.5 out of 5 COSMIC A<wbr />FROS.
