Abraham Lincoln as a Vampire Hunter is a Ridiculous concept. Many people laughed at first, myself included. But once you watch the film, you know director Timur Bekmambetov took this concept seriously. You might have a hard time balancing the Fantastical visuals with the serious tone. The only problem I had with the film is it seemed rushed at times, which felt like plot holes. It told a lot of story in 2 hrs though. Best part about the movie was the action packed special effects. Bekmambetov is no stranger to that kind of stuff. The Horse stamped was a crazy, if not pure fantasy. The Cinematography was done well. Benjamin Walker was a decent Lincoln, but the award goes to Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Mary Todd Lincoln. The rest carried their weight. Of course, this is Lincoln we're talking about, so slavery and war were important issues. But it was killing vampires that worked the magic. Very different and original. GEEKSOULBROTHER.COM gives it 3.25 out of 5 COSMIC AFROS.
